Weekend event affects transit services, February 6



From noon Friday, February 6 until noon Monday, February 9, the City of Richmond Hill is closing

  • Mill Street between Leisure Lane and Trench Street

to accommodate the annual Richmond Hill Winter Carnival.

York Region Transit is detouring buses along these routes, while the street is closed:

  • 83 Trench;
  • 440 St Theresa high-school special via Mill; and
  • 443 Langstaff high-school special via Shaftesbury.

Friday, February 6, the afternoon bus operates along its regular path to Trench and Richmond streets, then detours:

westward along Richmond; and then
northward along Leisure Lane to Mill Street,
resuming their regular path westward along Mill.

The afternoon bus skips its regular stop on Trench Street at Mill Street.

440 St. Theresa high-school special via Mill

Friday, February 6, the afternoon bus operates along its regular path to Mill Street and Leisure Lane, then detours:

southward along Leisure;
eastward along Richmond Street; and then
northward along Trench Street to Mill,
resuming their regular path eastward along Mill.

The afternoon bus skips its regular stop

  • on Mill Street at Trench Street.

Instead, the afternoon bus drops off passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Trench Street at Mill Street.

After noon Friday, February 6, southbound buses operate along their regular path to Mill Street and Leisure Lane, then detour:

southward along Leisure; and then
eastward along Richmond Street to Trench Street,
resuming their regular path southward along Trench.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Mill Street at Trench Street and
  • on Trench Street at Richmond Street.

Northbound buses reverse the southbound detour path.
