Metrolinx continues building the Ontario Line subway between Exhibition Place / Ontario Place and the area near the former Ontario Science Centre, through downtown Toronto.
The TTC is advising passengers that, from 6 p.m. Saturday, April 4 until 4 a.m. Easter, Sunday, April 5, it’s detouring streetcars along these routes, “due to Metrolinx Ontario Line work:”
Shuttle buses replace the cars between Shaw and York streets.
The TTC hasn’t identified the exact site of the Ontario-line construction and we haven’t been able to locate a construction notice on the Metrolinx / Ontario Line site that describes any construction near Queen Street this weekend.
501 Queen

From 6 p.m. Saturday, April 4 until 4 a.m. Easter, Sunday, April 5, eastbound cars operate along their regular path to Queen Street West and Shaw Street, then detour:
southward along Shaw;
eastward along King Street West;
northward along Spadina Avenue; and then
eastward along Adelaide Street West to York Street,
resuming their regular path eastward along Adelaide West.Eastbound cars skip their regular stops
- on Queen Street West at Strachan Avenue, Niagara, Tecumseth and Bathurst streets, Augusta and Spadina avenues, Peter and John streets and University Avenue and
- on York Street at Adelaide Street West.
Instead, eastbound cars likely drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops
- on Shaw Street across from Adelaide Street West and at King Street West,
- on King Street West at Strachan Avenue and Niagara and Tecumseth streets and beyond Bathurst and Portland streets and
- on Spadina Avenue beyond King Street West.
