Starting Wednesday, August 6, the City of Toronto is closing:
- Markham Road between Ellesmere Road and Brimorton Drive
to accommodate contractors who are lifting a crane at a construction site.
The TTC is detouring buses along these routes, while the street is closed:
Crane activity on Markham Road and the resulting TTC detours continue until August 9.

From 7 p.m. Thursday, August 6 until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, August 9, southbound buses operate along their regular path to Markham and Ellesmere roads, then detour:
westward along Ellesmere;
southward along Dolly Varden Boulevard; and then
eastward along Brimorton Drive to Markham,
resuming their regular path southward along Markham.Southbound buses skip their regular stops
- on Markham Road at Brimorton Drive.
Instead, southbound buses likely drop off or pick up passengers at a temporary stop
- on Brimorton Drive at Markham Road (unofficial).
Northbound buses reverse the southbound detour path.
