The route name and number is likely to be consigned into history after nearly 100 years upon the opening of the new, but delayed LINE 5 EGLINTON LRT. This vehicle is one of the 136 units TTC ordered along with 204 New Flyer Xcelsior X-E40 Charge buses and as of this writing, approximately over 40 LFSe+ models are in revenue service.

This stretch of subway is barely three weeks old at this point. The house in the photograph was said to be the source of many noise complaints against the TTC. In August 1982, the TTC, UTDC and the Ontario Government collaborated on displaying some of its newest transit technology. The display, located outside the Exhibition's eastern loop featured prototype ALRV #4900 in its unique colour scheme and flip-dot front display, and Orion I bus #8371 as well as GM New Look #8604. Richard Glaze captured this overview from atop the giant slide at the CNE Midway on August 30, 1982.

Throughout 2022 and into 2023, renovations were made to Eglinton Station ahead of the opening of the Eglinton LRT and the connecting transfer station at the north end of the station. This resulted in a number of changes to the subway platform, essentially moving the public plantform north by several meters. In this May 2023 shot,you see the subway platform from the south stairs, looking toward the section of subway platform that was walled off and no longer used as a platform. The barrier blocking access to trains is visible at left, and the elevator shaft behind the litter and recycling bins. Two staff members are there to help people navigate th modified station.
